Sizing
All hats are hand-knit and therefore size may vary slightly from hat to hat.
Because knit hats are very stretchy, they will accommodate a range of sizes. The hats should be 1″—2″
smaller than head size to allow for some stretch. The smallest size will fit an infant up to about
1 year of age, but in order to get increased wear I would suggest that if the baby is older than
6 or 7 months, you consider the next size. I knit a watermelon hat for my great nephew when he was
8 months old. It’s still his favourite hat and he’s now 3½ years old.
| SIZE | DEPTH† | CIRCUMFERENCE‡ |
| 0—6 months | 6″/ 15 cm | 14½″/ 37 cm |
| 6 mo.—4 years | 7″/ 18 cm | 16″/ 41 cm |
| Adult* (for the child in all of us) | 8″/ 20 cm | 19½″/ 49 cm |
| † The depth is the distance from the top of the hat to the rolled brim, including the brim. ‡ The circumference is the size around the widest part of the hat, without stretching. * Please email granny@grannysgarden.ca for pricing of adult hats. |
Booties: Booties are one size, and made to fit up to about 10 months. They are not recommended
for babies that are beginning to walk as they don’t provide any traction and can be quite slippery,
like socks.

Fibre Content & Care
All my hats are knit of 100% acrylic and non-allergenic yarns. They can be machine-washed and dried on a gentle cycle. However, I recommend hand-washing to preserve the fresh appearance
for a longer time. Haley and Geoffrey are still enjoying their blueberry and watermelon hats three years later.

Custom Orders
I welcome hearing your suggestions and making that special hat for that special someone.
Some custom hats I have designed include a cat, a dog, and a shark; a little nautical cap with the name of a
sailboat; a hat with cars for a baby whose daddy races; a flower hat with a dragonfly; and many with colours
that differ from the standard model. You can see some of these hats in my Photo Album. One of my
custom hats (green pea) proved so popular it is now a regular. Since all the hats are hand-knit, the price may
not vary much from the original. Contact me and we can discuss design and price.

Gift Wrapping
If you wish to have one of Granny’s hats sent as a present, I would be pleased to
gift wrap it for the small additional charge of $2.95. Your present will arrive in a custom-made cotton gingham
check bag, in your choice of yellow, pink or blue, tied with a matching ribbon and with a small gift enclosure
card. Look in my Photo Album to see a picture of the bags.

Ordering & Shipping
All prices are shown in Canadian dollars. Depending upon how the Canadian dollar is
doing on the market, this could be a bonus for American shoppers!
I’ll make every effort to ship hats within a week of receiving the order. However, since hats are all hand-knit,
there may be a delay in some cases. I will let you know if there will be a longer than normal delay.
All hats will be sent via Canada Post. The cost is $3.00 per hat, or hat and booties set, to addresses in Canada or the United States; please contact me at granny@grannysgarden.ca for international shipping information.
Payment can be made through PayPal, a money order, or a personal cheque.
If you choose to use a cheque, there will be a delay until the cheque clears before your order is sent.
